With the approval of Varier Samajam, Kerala, WCW undertook to webcast live, all major events & programmes at the 34th AGM of the Varier Samajam, held at Haripad, Kerala on 18th, 19th & 20th May 2012. This web casting of their Annual Meet, was done for the first time in the history of Varier Samajam, Kerala, & even of any other Varier organization in India.
WCW initiated this webcasting so that thousands of Warrier community members, who were, though keenly interested to participate in the said major community event, but were not able to attend the programmes, could at least see live on their computers / laptops / other equipments, the happenings at the venue & this effort of WCW created a major impact among our community members living in various centers in India & even abroad.
Many persons from different places telephoned the AGM event organizers & WCW personnel, congratulating them on this new initiative. For local personnel at the AGM venue, WCW also provided CCTV system with LCD,s & video mixers inside the auditorium.
A technical team from wedolive.com from Ernakulam, handled the technical aspects of the webcasting. At the end of the webcasting, WCW team also interviewed many participants, office bearers of the Samajam & the organizers of the AGM event & they were mostly unanimous in the appreciation of the webcasting & the initiative taken by WCW. It also gave all a brief indication of the multilevel co-operation, co-ordination & support WCW can provide to the activities of other Samajams.
In all, the webcast covered total time of 22 hours, over the three days. The cost of webcasting was met mostly from donations by the following sponsors who willingly supported the WCW initiative & WCW gratefully acknowledges & appreciates their spontaneous support to WCW in the matter.
Brief ad copies on the products / services of the above sponsors / their logo & website details were repeatedly telecast in a bottom strip of the event web casting. This will give the sponsors good exposure to their products / services.
WCW also records a very special thanks to Dr. Kannan C.S. Warrier & other members of Varier Samajam Coimbatore, who provided major technical & other support to WCW in handling the web casting & to conduct personal interviews with many persons, in a professional way. The video clippings recorded during the event will be available in YouTube shortly.
